Club Rules

WHEN PLAYING FOOTBALL I WILL:
  • Always play to the best of my ability and for the benefit of my team
  • Play fairly – I won’t cheat, dive, complain or waste time
  • Respect my team-mates, the other team, the referee or my coach/manager
  • Play by the rules, as directed by the referee
  • Be gracious in victory and defeat – I will shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the game
  • Listen and respond to what my coach/team manager tells me.
  • Understand that a coach has to do what is best for the team and not one individual player.
  • Players are asked to attend to make a minimum of 3 out of 4 consecutive training sessions on a continuous basis where possible.
  • Players must make every effort to fully participate in training sessions. Failure to do so could lead to players being excluded from the training session and matches.
  • Players will wear predominantly black football boots only. Failure to do so will mean that player will not be included in match day squads.
  • Providing players are attending the required level of training sessions players will receive equal amount of playing time across the season.
  • Players will take turns as substitutes.
  • Players must wear shin pads at training and during match.
  • Talk to someone I trust or the club welfare officer if I’m unhappy about anything at my club.

I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by my club, County FA or The FA:

I WILL:
  • Remember that children play for FUN
  • Respect the Referee’s decisions even when you don’t agree with them
  • Applaud effort and good play as well as success.
  • Appreciate good play from whatever team it comes from
  • Remain behind the touchline and within the Designated Spectators’ Area
  • Let the coach do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do. There should be no coaching/directional input at any point
  • Encourage the players to respect the opposition, referee and match officials
  • Support positively and offer players encouragement not criticism
  • I will not engage in physical or verbal confrontations with players, coaches, officials or fans before, during or after practices or game competitions.
  • I will provide encouragement to my child and teammates.  I will refrain from making negative comments to my child or his teammates
  • Avoid criticising a player for making a mistake – mistakes are part of learning
  • Parents/guardians expectations of their own team/child and attitude towards other players, officials and supporters can have a significant bearing on the child’s attitude towards the same. A positive and constructive attitude must be expressed to all involved at all times
  • I understand that any concerns about any aspect of the coaching must be directed to the coach liaison officer for that team
